PADI Night Diver Specialty Course teaches you to focus on what you can see in your light’s beam, controlling your buoyancy by feel, staying with your buddy and paying attention to details you may have overlooked during the day.

 

Many divers find - to their surprise - that they are more relaxed diving at night and that they consume less air. Concentrating on the area that your light illuminates reduces unnecessary movement and keeping track of your dive buddy is often easier as you can see your buddy's light.

 

During the Night Diver Specialty course you will be using navigation techniques at night so the Night Diver specialty goes well with the Underwater Navigator specialty.

Course Contents

 

You'll learn

 

• Night dive planning, organization, procedures and techniques

• Light handling and communication techniques

• Compass navigation at night

• Entries and exits at night

 

During the course you'll do

 

• Three (3) dives in open water - at night time (2 evenings)

• Knowledge review

 

There is a video to watch - if you like - and a you'll get a manual. You'll need to complete the two Knowledge Reviews. A brief review session with your instructor is done at some point either between or after the dives, or as a separate session.

 

 

Prerequisites

 

• PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
   

• Minimum age 12 years

Night Diver Specialty:   from HKD2,400 per person

 

Course fee includes professional instruction, course manual, tanks & weights used during the course and certification fee.
